Rise above personal and political differences for the future of South Sudan – Peace advocate
Episode 1922, Mar 31, 2022, 07:41 AM
A peace advocate has urged South Sudan political leaders to consider the revitalized peace agreement as the last train. Akol Miyen is calling on President Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar to do more to ensure the agreement is fully implemented.
Speaking during the Miraya breakfast show this morning, Miyen described the apparent tensions between the key partners in the agreement as ‘disappointing.’
Tensions arose last week when the SPLM-IO suspended its participation in security mechanisms meetings, accusing government forces of attacking its positions in Upper Nile.
