WFPIGNITE: Hagana Agro Processing Company Limited

The World Food Program IGNITE Food Systems challenge finalists Matata Safi says it's been his life dream to do something to end hunger in South Sudan. A former refugee, Safi is the Executive Director and Co-founder of the Hagana Agro  processing company based in Juba, South Sudan.  Hagana was established 2018 and is the country’s leading honey producing company and the first to export honey to Japan. The company uses bees to create employment opportunities for farmer and to increase crop yields and fight hunger.
