From years of brutal war, Liberia is today contributing towards peace in South Sudan

Looking back in African history about 20 years ago, no one would have thought that a country which was ravaged by war would now be among those contributing to efforts aimed at achieving durable peace in South Sudan.
This is the story of Liberia, a west African country which experienced brutal civil war from 1989 to 1997. A few days ago, nine Liberian Police officers currently serving under UNMISS had a Medal Parade in recognition of their contribution towards peace in South Sudan.
Irene Lasu spoke to Superintendent Elfreda Stewart, a police officer from Liberia.
