For the next terrifying installment in the Apocalypse Video Shocktober Spooktacular: Part II we must go back in time, all the way to 1935. Universal Studios is now the king of monster films, and they are about to release a sequel that will not only stand the test of time nearly 100 years later, but will also inspire a young Mel Brooks to create one of the best comedies of his career.

Topics of discussion in this episode include the beginning of franchise filmmaking; we raise an eyebrow at the surprising moments of brutality in 1930s cinema; and finally, we talk about why it’s never a good idea to install a “Blow Up Your Lab” lever in your castle.
