ROBERT SHEARMAN - PART 1

Shivering in the subterranean darkness while the wind howls through the blasted ruins of civilisation above this week is Robert Shearman. A multiple-award winning English writer, he enjoyed success early on when he became the youngest ever person to be made Resident Dramatist of the Royal Theatre in Exeter, where he worked often with Alan Ayckborn, while his controversial play Easy Laughter was staged by none other than Francis Ford Coppola. A writer of short stories, novels – including 2020’s We All Hear Stories In The Dark – and scripts, he’s best known by Doctor Who fans for penning numerous Big Finish classics, including The Holy Terror, The Chimes of Midnight, and Jubilee, the latter of which he loosely self-adapted for 2005’s TV Doctor Who episode Dalek.
