Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 5: Botner's Message Drew WHAT Reply?!

Alleigha Botner's morning testimony put one of her own messages on the screen for the Caleb Flynn jury. She read, "I want to kill her, Caleb." She testified that Caleb's response was, "That makes 2 of us."

Ashley Flynn is the murder victim at the center of this trial, and Caleb Flynn has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege Caleb killed his wife and staged their home to look like an intruder had broken in. His defense maintains Ashley died during a real home invasion and investigators rushed to judgment.

Botner's message changes the texture of this portion of the testimony because the violent language was not presented as one-sided. Prosecutors are using the text history as part of their case against Caleb, while the jury also has to assess the witness who participated in those conversations. The exchange is evidence the jurors heard; what they conclude it proves remains their job.
