The Chairperson of UN Commission on Human Rights in #SouthSudan Yasmin Sooka says lack of progress in establishing transitional justice mechanism including the Hybrid Court is delaying accountablility and reparation for crimes. She says the Commission continues to document serious violations and that over sixty people have been identied as responsible for what she called serious international crimes.
She says though armed conflict has done considerably in the country, little progress has been made to adhere to the terms of the agreement.
Speaking at a press conference in Juba after field visits to Bentui and Yei, Mrs Sooka says civil military relations have improved in the country and calls for such mechanisms to be replicated in other parts of the country.
