UK Special Envoy visits Upper Nile

The UK Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan has visited Malakal to get a sense of the situation as part of an official trip to press for the full implementation of the peace agreement, including the appointment of a state governor in Upper Nile. 

Special Envoy, Robert Fairweather arrived in #SouthSudan early this week along with the United States Special Envoy, Ambassador Stuart Symington, to engage with the political leadership. 

In an exclusive interview with Radio Miraya in Malakal, Special Envoy Fairweather welcomed a planned conference for the communities of Upper Nile to discuss ways and means of resolving tribal or communal differences ahead of the appointment of a state governor.
