Humanitarian community launches $1.7bln appeal for 2021

The humanitarian community in #SouthSudan has launched a joint appeal for $1.7 billion to meet response needs for the year 2021.
The funds will provide urgent and life-saving assistance to 6.6 million people across the country, out of 8.3 million people estimated to be in need.
The humanitarian response plan will help those affected by localized violence, floods and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
UN Humanitarian Coordinator, Alain Noudehou says the response plan is a combined strategy of national and international NGO activities this year.
One hundred and eighty-three aid organizations including 100 local non-governmental organizations more than 60 international NGOs and 11 United Nations organizations aim to implement projects under the 2020 Humanitarian Response Plan.
Mr. Noudehou spoke to Radio Miraya’s Nelson Lwak in this 8” interview.
