Caleb Flynn had legal options. Divorce. Separation. He chose to kill his wife, prosecutors argued. A jury convicted the former American Idol contestant and worship leader on all nine counts for the murder of Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors said he shot Ashley in the back of the head while she slept in their Tipp City home and staged the scene as a home invasion. Their daughters were sleeping nearby. Flynn had been carrying on an 18-month affair with a 24-year-old church intern. In more than 107,000 texts, he allegedly wrote about hating his wife and trying to figure out how to kill her and not go to jail. The jury took about two hours. Bob Motta and Robin Dreeke break down the psychology of a man who compartmentalized everything and the arrogance it takes to think you can stage a murder and walk free.
